Role of the Chief Judge

The Chief Judge of the Circuit is elected by the judges of the circuit for a two-year term and may serve up to four terms. Pursuant to Rule of General Practice & Judicial Administration 2.215 (b), the Chief Judge must "...be a circuit judge who possesses managerial, administrative, and leadership abilities, and shall be selected without regard to seniority only."
