Magistrates & Traffic Hearing Officers

Magistrates are quasi-judicial officers who conduct formal court hearings, take testimony, and evaluate evidence.
  • One child support Magistrate
  • Five family Magistrates
  • One family Magistrate who presides one day in the juvenile division and four days in the family division;and One full-time juvenile division Magistrate
Civil Traffic Hearing Officers preside over civil traffic infractions.

The Chief Judge appoints experienced attorneys on a contract basis to serve as traffic hearing officers. These attorneys have undergone rigorous training to hear all civil traffic infractions except those mandated by law to be heard by a County Court Judge.
