PLEASE TAKE NOTICE- COVID-19 PROCEDURES
Per A.O. No. 12.510-03/2020.7 beginning March 18, 2020 and continuing through the end of business on May 1, 2020, all cases in Division C will be handled as follows:
Jury Trials are suspended.
Hearings for ESSENTIAL and NON-ESSENTIAL matters must be special set with the court by contacting the Judicial Assistant. Only cases that are special set by the court will be heard. All other cases will be rescheduled pending additional administrative order(s). The presence of a defendant is waived unless otherwise ordered by the Court.
"ESSENTIAL PROCEEDINGS" include in-custody bond hearings, in-custody pre-negotiated time-served plea agreements, and any other emergency or time sensitive matter as determined by the Court. These will be heard on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning at 8:30 am.
All other proceedings are deemed to be NON-ESSENTIAL. NON-ESSENTIAL PROCEEDINGS will be conducted by REMOTE HEARINGS USING COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT. Refer to AOSC20-16 In Re: COVID-19 Emergency Procedures for the Administering of Oaths via Remote Audio-Video Communications Equipment regarding the procedures for utilizing remote witness testimony. These will be hears on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning at 1:30 pm.
Attorneys are invited and encouraged to appear remotely utilizing approved Communications Equipment such as telephonic and/or video conferencing. ZOOM will be available for video conferencing. Please advise the Judicial Assistant should you wish to do so when you call to schedule your hearing so that a link with instructions may be provided. Be sure to indicate the method of appearance on the Notice of Hearing.
Submit proposed agreed orders to reset any case along with a waiver of speedy trial to the Division C email CADemail@example.com
