Scott Ryan Kerner

Judge Scott Ryan Kerner was born in 1979 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida. Judge Kerner was raised here in Palm Beach County, Florida. A product of our public school education, Judge Kerner graduated from Santaluces Community High School in 1997. Immediately after High School, Judge Kerner received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with an emphasis in creative writing in January 2002 from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Judge Kerner continued his higher education and further obtained a Masters of Arts degree in English with an emphasis in creative writing in May 2003. Finally, Judge Kerner received a Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas School of Law in 2006.

Judge Kerner has been admitted to practice in Florida State Courts since April 14, 2008. He was also licensed to practice law in the United States District Court of the Southern District since November 9, 2013. Judge Kerner has practiced continuously throughout this time primarily in the Circuit Civil arena. However, after running a contested county-wide election in 2018, Judge Kerner was elected to the 15th Judicial Circuit in and for Palm beach County, Florida. Currently, Judge Kerner sits in Circuit Civil "AN" Division. In this assignment, Judge Kerner hears a wide variety of civil legal disputes. The scope and breadth of the division is quite expansive involving many cases sounding in tort, breach of contract, real property disputes to request for declaratory relief and imposition of injunctions. Prior to this assignment, Judge Kerner was previously assigned to Family (Division "FZ") and Probate (Division "IZ").
