15th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Samantha Schosberg Feuer to Receive Distinguished Judicial Service Pro Bono Award
The Hon. Samantha Schosberg Feuer of the 15th Judicial Circuit serving Palm Beach County, is the recipient of the 2025 Distinguished Judicial Service Award. The award, which honors outstanding and sustained service to the public especially as it relates to support of pro bono legal services, will be presented by Chief Justice Carlos G. Muñiz in a Jan. 16 ceremony streamed live by the Supreme Court of Florida.
Since taking the bench in 2014, Judge Feuer has earned a reputation for applying the law with empathy and understanding. However, her long-term and unwavering commitment to activities focused on improving the law, the legal system and the administration of justice is even more apparent in her service outside of the courtroom.
Judge Feuer was instrumental in revitalizing the 15th Judicial Circuit's Pro Bono Committee, where she served as chair from 2016 to 2024. Her efforts as chair were crucial in developing the Pro Bono Awards Ceremony and Ice Cream Social Subcommittee, a group tasked with honoring local pro bono attorneys.
At the heart of Judge Feuer's service to the legal profession is her unwavering commitment to mentoring the next generation of women lawyers and judges. In 2010, as president of Palm Beach County chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (FAWL), Judge Feuer emphasized the need for women to "Get a Seat at the Table" and strive for leadership roles, elected offices, and managerial/executive positions. Judge Feuer served on the state FAWL board and spearheaded the FFAWL mentoring program.
Judge Feuer also mentors University of Florida (UF) law students through the Ethos of Excellence scholarship program and started a summer pre-law internship program courthouse in 2021. She co-founded the Women's Foundation of Palm Beach County through which she started the Girls Leadership Institute (GLI) and the Road to the Bench program.
Note: Support of pro bono legal services by members of the bench is an activity that relates to improvement of the administration of justice. Accordingly, a judge may engage in activities intended to encourage attorneys to perform pro bono services, including, but not limited to participating in events to recognize attorneys who do pro bono work, establishing general procedural or scheduling accommodations for pro bono attorneys as feasible, and acting in an advisory capacity to pro bono programs.
